Special Guests
Terry Jones. For more than 20 years, Terry Jones has been recognized as one of the most important creative directors of his generation. born in 1945, Jones is the actual motor behind i-D Magazine, which is a wide international success for its inspired content and visionary spirit. Jones started as art director in Vanity Fair and Vogue UK, and after became consultant for various international publications. Since he left Vogue in 1977, his studio Instant Design has produced catalogues, campaigns, expositions and book such as Wink, A Manual of Graphic Techniques (1989), Catching the Moment (1997) and, more recently, Smile i-D. Fashion and Style: The Best of 20 Years of i-D (Taschen, 2001).

Gilles Lipovetsky. The controversial social philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky has become one of Europe’s biggest ? gures of our days. Born in Millau in 1944, Lipovetsky has published few but strong titles, including The Empire of Fashion. This Grenobe University professor unravels in this book the history of fashion and analyzes the place it has taken within social conflict, daily life symbolism investigation and the creation of fashion desire. His conclusions raise disturbing questions about personal joy and anguish in modern democracy.
